My friend gave me these beautiful Hyacinths, just as they were past their best, because she knew I would love to use them in my art. The smell was intoxicating. I've called this piece Afterlife. Once the bloom has faded there is still great beauty in the bulbs, roots and the promise of what's to come next year.
